Small Additions that Can Liven Up Your Work Environment

Brighten The Workplace In No Time With No Money

While a workplace environment is important, not a lot of businesses want to put a lot of time or effort into brightening an office space. There are plenty of things any office can do for very little time and no, or next to no, monetary investments. They say it’s the little things that matter and that is even true for a workplace. Here are a few things you and your coworkers can do to freshen up the workplace and lift morale without much time or effort.

Add Plants

Plants are like a breath of fresh air for an otherwise stark and neutral office space. Bring in any plant or perhaps even colorful, flowered plants and you’ll have a nicer, more natural, calm look. Plants are welcoming and showcase a company unlike plain walls with boring decorations. Place a plant in the entryway and scatter others throughout the office. Don’t forget to designate a care person so the plants get watered as needed.

Music Day

Not everyone has the same taste in music so it can be annoying for one worker to blast their music while another tries to work around it. That’s why so many people wear earphones in an office space. But the quietness and the sound of typing can get old as well. Designate one day a week or once a month as music day and let everyone choose a song or two for a playlist. If your office isn’t conducive to music, play it in the breakroom to ease tensions there.

Free Snacks

Who doesn’t like to come to the office and see that someone had some extra baked goods at home and brought them in? Make it a point to offer an array of snacks to coworkers in the break room. It brightens any day to get a free treat that they weren’t expecting and can make the work environment more friendly and welcoming to guests as well.

Stretch Breaks

You might know ergonomics are important, but does everyone else? Have a professional come in and actually teach employees how to stretch in the most beneficial ways for an office job. You could have someone teach yoga on a special day or offer chair massages to employees. All of these things can lessen pain and heighten morale.

Company Bonding

Coworkers need to get along well in order to work well together and that might mean organizing some company bonding events. Those events could be as simple as a healthy meal together in the office or they might mean a retreat to get to know one another at another location. Once everyone is back in the office and back at work, the work environment could be more lively and friendly all the way around.

Getting The Right Pieces For Your Work Environment

Having plants around might work for some offices, but not others. What does your office need? It’s finding the right pieces to fit the specific work environment that will do the trick. Contact E3 Consulting to find those customized pieces for your workplace.
