What is OSHA?

OSHA is a government agency and a part of the Department of Labor. OSHA, which was formed in 1971, stands for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. The goal of the organization is to provide and enforce standards, training, outreach, assistance, and education to employers and employees in the country. OSHA seeks to ensure safe and healthy working conditions through these standards and OSHA training. Whether you’re working in an office building, mixing toxic chemicals, or serving food, you encounter various risks on a day-to-day basis. These risks may be more obvious or less-acknowledged, like repetitive motion disorders or vision problems.
