Creating A Heavenly Work Environment

man-receiving-a-massageThe Work Environment Of Your Dreams

It’s easy enough to compare one company to another and judge that one work environment is top of the line while another is down in the dumps. But how did they get that way? And if you are building an organization, how do you get a positive work environment? To create the work environment you’ve always wanted, you have to be present of mind at all times as you build things from the ground up. Use these tips to help you cultivate happiness in the workplace.

Tip 1: It Starts With Hiring

If you hire people who are generally happy, positive people, it’s going to make a difference in the workplace. It’s natural to look at the resume and hire people with the most experience, but you need to take a close look at those individuals during the interviewing process. Are they the right fit for the feel you want within your company? The best people in person aren’t always the best ones on paper. See how you feel about the person when you are around them and focus on their positives. If you can hire people who laugh and smile instead of those who are overly serious, your work environment will be better off.

Tip 2: Chuck Routines On Occasion

As you work day in and day out, it’s easy to get to the office and do the same old job. Your employees come and go at the same times and everything seems to dredge along. To keep a happy work environment, it’s nice to get out of those routines from time to time. Treat your employees to an afternoon picnic in the par, a chair massage specialist, or an afternoon of bowling when the business is slow enough to allow everyone a break.

Tip 3: Share Kindness And Caring

It’s never fun to work around people you don’t enjoy or who don’t seem to care about you at all. Show your employees kindness by recognizing their lives outside the work environment. Ask them how they are doing, how their children are, and what they’re doing over the weekend. If they have a hard time in their lives, show some kindness by offering them time off, delivering a meal to them, or stepping out with another act of kindness. A few pieces of caring and kindness go a long way in any work environment.

Tip 4: Give Back Together

It’s good for any company’s image to give back to the community in some way and it’s good for your work environment for the employees to do something together. Set up a time to work the community garden, volunteer at a festival, or do something else for the community as a group. These times are bonding for employees and they allow your company to give back and improve its work environment.

Improving An Existing Work Environment

Not everyone has the luxury of building a new work environment from the ground up, but if you have a less-than-stellar work environment now, contact E3 Consulting for advice on how to improve things.
