Ways to Manage Stress While Working From Home

Helpful Ways To Combat Stress While Working From Home

Due to the current crisis, working from home has become the new normal for many employees, with many businesses choosing to go back into the office in 2021 or allowing employees to work remotely permanently. Navigating the “work-from-life” has caused some to feel stressed and overwhelmed, especially when having to play the role as both parent and employee during the week. E3 Consulting has come up with some helpful tips to combat stress and manage time while working from home. Check them out below!

Create a Routine

Although you are now working from home, it is important to continue some aspects of your usual morning routine as if you were still going into work. Wake up and drink your morning coffee as usual or sit down and share a meal with your family. While working from home may be a more relaxed environment, it is still important to get dressed, especially if you will be on conference calls. As comfortable as they may be, staying in your pajamas all day may cause fatigue and make you feel less productive. Once it’s time to get down to business, make sure you are in a quiet place that promotes productivity and has all the tools you need to be successful. Make sure to take breaks as needed to stretch and move around as well as designate a time to eat. Having a plan in place can allow the workday to run more smoothly and for more work to be done efficiently.

Hire Childcare

Having a child, if not multiple children in the house, while trying to accomplish job-related responsibilities can be extremely taxing. Many parents are struggling with having to assume the role as their child’s educator with many schools participating in distance learning. Balancing the role as parent and employee can prove to be tough. To ensure your child is getting their work done and is receiving the attention that they need, we recommend hiring childcare. This allows you to have peace of mind that they are in good hands and you won’t have to worry about experiencing any distractions.

Communicate

Many businesses understand how difficult this time has been, so if you are having issues, it is important to communicate those with your boss or members of your team. A solution can be created to relieve your stress and make working from home more positive.

Spend Time Away From Your Home

After spending so much time at home, tensions can run high. After your work day is complete, we suggest getting out of the house for a bit, whether that means going for a walk or run, picking up dinner, watching the sunset, etc. Breathe in the fresh air and separate your mind from the busyness of your work day. Trust us, there will be plenty of time to do it all again the next day!
